The Green Eyeshade Awards, the 11-state regional journalism contest sponsored by SPJ Regions 3 and 12, has extended its entry deadline.

The original deadline was Friday, Feb. 11.

The new deadline is Thursday, Feb. 17.

Contest director Sonny Albarado said the extension was influenced by heavy snowfall predicted in the region this week and technical problems some entrants have experienced.

Contest entries must be submitted online. The entry site can be found atwww.betterbnc.com.
