Welcome to the SPJ Garden Center, the place where chapters grow.

My name is Holly Fisher and I’m the national membership chairwoman for SPJ.
I work as a freelance writer/editor and do PR and marketing work. I know first-hand
the challenges facing journalists. I was laid off from a job at a business newspaper and
had to regroup after a decade in the newspaper business. But one thing I didn’t do was
let my SPJ membership lapse. Let’s continue to share with current, prospective and
lapsed members the incredible value that SPJ provides.
