Thanks much, Kevin. It was a team effort to make this happen, and SPJ has done a great job over the years fostering FOI. Your support is appreciated!

Dave, we'll talk more but I wanted to tell you how incredibly proud we are at SPJ of you and your efforts.
This was an amazing one-man performance to spread FOI to newsroom and further the cause of open government. Sadly, I agree too many journalist don't even think FOI as part of their normal newsgathering process. You opened eyes and I know in many
places your advice will be put to work and slowly but surely we will win small victories.
Your work was incredible and it will bear fruit. But we can never stop.
Thanks.

Great blog. As a journalist in Billings, Mont., I wish we could've gotten you to come here (you weren't far away). We have the biggest and best newspaper in the state, along with a weekly and two TV stations. There are two colleges here, too, both with basic J-programs. Any chance you'll be coming back this way? We do a lot of open government work here and will never turn down a chance to learn more (unless you wanted to come and the powers-that-be said no. If that's the case, sorry about that).

Great tip,

They all were --- I enjoyed your presentation today, and I'm looking forward to applying what you discussed. The next time I'm tossed out of the courthouse or harassed for photographing a public building I'll be ready to cite code. Maybe then they'll feel more 'comfortable' about leaving me alone!

Best,
